Habitat for Humanity International

Habitat for Humanity International is a volunteer organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing and homelessness from the community by building simple, decent, and affordable homes in partnership with those in need. A chapter must raise 30 thousand dollars to sponsor a home. Last year, we raised a total of 55 thousand, raffled a new 2005 Ford Mustang, and netted about 37 thousand dollars. Even though it took our energy for most of the year, we became one of the first high schools to actually raise that much money in the nation!

Get Involved!
This year, we've actually started to build a home for the local family in need. Almost every Saturday, the members meet at the assigned building location, from 8 AM-12PM, and put forth the time and energy to build the home as soon as possible for the family to move in.

How To Join
To join the Lake Region chapter, you must pay $10 dues, come to the meetings and go to the housebuilding.

Meeting Times
The third Tuesday of the month, at 2:15 pm, in room 1219.
