Instruction in literature and language skills.  FCAT skills are introduced.  These courses are taken for the entire year.  Student must make a C or better to receive credit. (36 weeks)

Instruction in literature and language skills.   FCAT skills are introduced.  Moves at a faster pace than English 1.  This course is taken for one term.  Students must make a C or better to receive credit.  Admission requires Level 3 or higher on FCAT Reading.

Continued instruction in literature and language skills.  Emphasis on FCAT skills.

1 credit
Continued instruction in literature and language skills.  Emphasis on FCAT skills.  Moves at a faster pace than English 2 with an in-depth approach to course content.
Pre-requisite:  Successful completion of English 1 Honors or Teacher Recommendation

Enriched instruction in American literature and continued instruction in language arts skills.

Rigorous college level content and is intended to sharpen skills in effective writing, critical thinking and critical reading.  Pre-requisite:  A or B in honors classes, application and teacher approval.

Students enrolled should enjoy writing.  The class includes writing poetry, short stories and plays.  Students enrolled in this class will produce a literary magazine for the school.  The class will be offered Term Two.

10083200 SAT/ACT Prep. Verbal
1⁄2 credit
Course designed to prepare for the Verbal sections of the SAT and ACT.  May be taken with SAT/ACT Prep Math.
Pre-requisite:  Students should have completed or currently be enrolled in English2.
