Goal 2
All ninth grade students will be prepared for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test
Goal 2 Strategies:
Team teacher meetings will occur in order to focus on the progress of the students’ learning gains.
Teachers and the academic dean will utilize a data interpretation program for current students’ previous FCAT grades.
Teachers will use the data to focus on the needs of the students.
Teachers will align the curriculum to the Sunshine State Standards.
Teachers will incorporate reading and writing instruction into all subjects.
Teachers will incorporate test taking skills into all subjects.
Teachers will teach in quadrant D of the rigor/relevance framework.
Teachers will incorporate sample FCAT questions into daily/weekly activities.
Students will be excited to participate in these activities as preparation for the FCAT.
Students will be engaged in all learning opportunities in the classroom.
Students will be academically focused at all times.
Goal 1
All ninth grade students will academically graduate to the tenth grade.
Goal 1 Strategies:
Team teacher meetings will occur in order to focus on the progress of the students’ learning progress, behavior, and attendance.
The academic dean and guidance counselors will monitor the academic status of the ninth grade students.
The attendance dean will monitor the attendance of the students and progressive steps will be taken to encourage perfect attendance.
The dean of students will ensure quality, progressive discipline to provide a safe environment for all ninth grade students.
Parental monitoring of students’ progress will occur with the use of Parent Internet Viewer.
Parental conferences will occur when the students’ grade is below average after proactive steps have been taken.
Parents and Teachers will work collaboratively for the benefit of the student’s successful completion of the ninth grade.
Incentives will be used to encourage perfect attendance as well as appropriate behavior.
Students will accept individual responsibility for participation, behavior, and attendance.
