Student attendance is vital for the success of the Freshman Success Academy. We will use the following strategies:

• Increased communication with parents via phone calls, E-mail, Parent Internet Viewer, automatic phone call system, and conferences.
• Team teacher meetings occur in order to focus on the students’ attendance.
• Student conference after three absences
• Parent conference after four unexcused absences
• Incentives given to students with perfect attendance

Students should bring legal documentation (doctor’s notes, court papers, etc.) to the attendance secretary before school to be copied; and should present all notes (including parent notes) to each of their teachers in order for an absence to be excused.
